Mario Garcia, P.A.

Background and Education

Mario Antonio Garcia was born in Camaguey, Cuba and immigrated to the United States in 1960.  He attended Winter Park High School, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University with a B.A. in English Literature.  Mr. Garcia obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law in New York City in 1987, and after practicing in Miami for two (2) years, returned home, where he has served the Orlando community since 1990.

Legal Experience

            Mr. Garcia, the owner of Mario A. Garcia, P.A., has successfully handled a wide range of matters for corporate and individual clients including, banking and general commercial litigation, contract and construction lien disputes, residential and commercial mortgage foreclosures, landlord/tenant disputes, negligence, business torts, franchising, secured transactions, and personal injury.  Mario A. Garcia, P.A., also handles commercial and real estate closings, and is a member of Attorney’s Title Insurance Fund Services, and Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.  In addition to being a member of the Florida Bar, Mr. Garcia has been admitted to the U.S. District Court of the Middle District of Florida, U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit, and U.S. Tax Court.

Mr. Garcia has handled appeals involving replevin actions, non-compete disputes, and bank litigation.

Representative cases include:

  • Henao v. Professional Shoe Repair, Inc., 929 So. 2d. 723 (Fla. 5th DCA 2006);
  • Perez v. Diruska, 881 So. 2d. 22 (Fla. 5th DCA 2004);
  • JSquare Enterprises v. Regner, 734 So. 2d 565 (Fla. 5th DCA 1999);
  • Prestige Rent-A-Car, Inc. v. Advantage Car Rental and Sales, Inc., 656 So. 2d 541           (Fla. 5th DCA 1995).

Community Involvement

He is the past Legal Advisor (1998-2001) and the 2002 Chairman of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando.  He served as a member of the Board of Governor’s of Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce (2002), and was one of the longest serving members of the Technical Assistance Committee of the Hispanic Business Initiative Firms (HBIF) (1996-2007).  He is also a 2002 graduate of Leadership Orlando.  Mr. Garcia was also appointed by the Honorable Buddy Dyer, Mayor of the City of Orlando, and has served on as a trustee for the City of Orlando Firefighter’s Pension Fund for the past six (6) years.

Mr. Garcia’s community involvement has also included participation in the Orlando Magic’s “Read to Achieve” Program, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where he was the Honoree for the “Fifth Annual Single Night” in March of 2004.
